Enter the normally private main hall of Tanukidanisan Fudoin for a personal introduction to Shugendo, Fudo Myoo, and the Buddhist goma fire ritual. Before the ceremony, write a prayer or wish on a wooden gomagi tablet.
A trained monk performs the ritual before Tanukidani Fudo Myoo, and you will place your own gomagi directly into the sacred fire under his guidance. Each participant receives one goma-fuda talisman associated with the ceremony’s prayers and blessings. English interpretation is included. The separate monk-initiation ritual is not included in this plan.
