Thread Dyeing & Nishijin Art Panel

Begin inside a Nishijin weaving house normally closed to visitors, observing looms in motion and the specialist network behind Kyoto’s woven textiles. Then work with production silk and develop your own colors under the guidance of a textile master.

Each participant receives one metre of finished Nishijin art panel. The threads may be woven separately for each person, or the group’s colors can be woven together into one longer shared length and then cut into individual panels. The finished panels are shipped approximately two months later; shipping is charged separately. Longer panels are available for JPY 33,000 per additional metre.
