Shape your own unglazed pottery with ceramic artist Emu Nakai at her kiln-side studio in the forests of Kameoka. Yakishime ware is fired with wood for several days, allowing flame and natural ash to create colors and markings that can never be fully repeated.
Choose your clay and make a piece by hand under the artist’s guidance; it will be fired in a future kiln firing and shipped approximately three to six months later. The listed price covers the standard amount of clay. If you would like to make a larger piece or use additional clay, please contact us in advance.
