Make a bespoke item with professionals of tradition
Keeping tradition matters. However, if it meant making products in the completely same manner as our precedents had done, people would end up losing their enthusiasm in having such traditional products. It is becoming more apparent in this modernized world, where affordable mass-produced products surround us. What we would think is important here, for culture or tradition to keep living, is to have continuous innovation in the tradition itself. If we could make extraordinary products inspired by brand-new ideas, we would keep the cultures alive and up-to-date. We believe there ideas should often come from outside of the culture.
In this program you can co-designing your totally original work working with our skilled Japanese craftpeople. You will be effectively guided by appropriate craftpeople and experienced arranger of Tradi, through online sessions including a fun introduction to the history and the techniques used, exhibition of some inspirational examples and interactive design sessions.
By joining this program, whatever work you create with our craftpeople and whether it appears innovative to you or not, you are actually making your unique contribution to the sustainability of the culture through your ideas, comments and perspectives you bring in. You are creating an important clue to make a new page of Japanese tradition.
